Wendy Rene almost hopped on the same plane that took Otis Redding’s life along with several members from the Bar-Kays in 1967. But some time before that, let’s say, back in 1964 this little piece of soul…food came off the grill and is still delicious to hear today.

Bo Diddley’s She’s Fine, She’s Mine got a fuzzed out face lift when Gary Walker got ahold of a guitar. Gary Walker played drums for The Standells when they toured the UK in 1964 and met Brian Jones who persuaded him that he should move to London. Once back in L.A Walker met up with a few other musicians and decided to hop across the pond and work on a few diddies as The Walker Brothers. Some how in the midst of all this he dished out a few hot singles of his own, like this fine gem You Don’t Love Me.

Jackie Paine moved to Houston in the early sixties and recorded this little treat by the time he was 19 for the JETSTREAM label, which the Crazy Cajun, record industry hustler Huey P. Meaux (pick up a copy of House of Hits to find out more about him). Go Go Train was such a delicious single back in the day it landed Jackie Paine a 45 stop tour with the Stax Revue. Everyone go ahead and get on board the GO GO TRAIN!!!!
